As the leaves are slowly starting the change and the temperature is beginning to drop, Tony and I are being reintroduced to one of cultural traits of the Swiss: heating.
I am unable to determine if the heat being turned on has been pre-programmed or managed manually, but this morning I was quite warm on the train ride to work. We first noticed it last winter – we were never cold no matter where we went, and in many instances we felt small beads of perspiration start at our hairlines. This included bars, restaurants, stores, trains, trams. The heat was higher than I had ever experienced before.
I am in support of this as I am a huge fan of comfy cozy warmth – snuggling into a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate, fuzzy socks and bad TV. However I am a bit perturbed that the heat is already being turned on quite high while the temperature is still hovering in the mid 60s.
