Spring has finally arrived in Zurich, and it is so fantastic to be here to witness it. Spring in any city is absolutely wonderful, but it doesn’t hurt to have a lake with a view of the Alps in the background to really make it something worth remembering.
We walked around throughout the morning and Tony took me over to a mall near our new apartment – it’s in an area called Sihl City which is a new, urban, industrial looking area. The mall was okay. I was glad to see there are stores like Kohls for things like hair irons or kitchen supplies, and we looked at some TVs which were actually reasonably priced. I almost pinched myself. Nothing can compare to American malls, though, let’s be honest.
I also love how clean everything is here – nothing is tainted by litter, or dirt, or smog – although there is the occasional cigarette smoke, which is a blog topic for another day. The people that live here take pride in their city and make the effort to keep it lovely.
Just being outside on such a beautiful day, the city started to feel a little bit like home. I was feeling proud to say I lived here and given that today is even more beautiful, well, I just need to stop blogging and get out there and enjoy it!
I will have a doozy for you tomorrow – I shall leave you waiting with bated breath (and some pretty flowers and a tram) until then.
