Since Tony and I have arrived in Zurich, we (and especially me) have had the blessed fortune to already start traveling. Mine has mostly been for work, and I am very excited to have the travel continue throughout the summer.
One of my favorite things about living here is the ability to just pop on a plane or train and be somewhere new in just a few short hours. For example, Milan and Munich are a two hour train ride away. Paris is just an hour plane ride. Greece is 2.5 hours.
Our first trip was to Paris for our dear friend’s wedding. She got married at L’eglise Madeleine which is a very famous church. There were tons of tourists standing around taking pictures of her because they thought she was a celebrity. It was pretty awesome. I wonder if I ended up in French People.
Next, Tony and I ventured to Berlin. Another good friend and her husband was already headed there for vacation. I was astonished at how much it reminded me of Wicker Park. Read about it here!
From there, I went back to Paris for work – I had the pleasure of meeting with a variety of colleagues I’d only spoken with by email in the past. My friend that was married there also took me a secret Sandro sale and I bought some amazing Repetto loafers. It was the first time I had shopped for clothing since arriving in Europe and I was in heaven.
Then last week I was in London for work and met up with another friend for cocktails. I got to spend some quality time on the tube and enjoy a few great pints. Next week takes me back to London to check-in on Kate’s and Will’s baby. I am trying to coordinate being there for the birth, but you know, it’s difficult to time that sort of thing. Harry is terrible about returning my texts.
Throughout the rest of the summer, I will be back in Germany and France, and venturing off to Abu Dhabi and India for the first time. I am so excited, especially because Tony will be coming with to Abu Dhabi. I will have to watch Sex and the City 2 again to remind myself how NOT to behave while in a foreign land. Tony can’t wait to pick up some crazy spices. I think he is on a mission to make his own face melt off. I just want to get some of that awesome black eyeliner Carrie wore.
Oh and I almost forgot. Tony and I plan on visiting Lichtenstein. As soon as this weather turns nice, of course. I have to get me some of those world famous stamps I keep hearing about. 🙂
